VASE WITH THE ATTRIBUTES OF SPRING. Work of Nicolas-Sébastien Adam. Made around 1747 following a commission from the Director General of King Philibert Orry's Buildings in 1742 to decorate the park of the Château de Choisy (where it was never installed). Photograph of the years 1870-1880. This marble vase of about 1.70 metres is kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Another vase with the attributes of Spring, made by Jacques Verbeckt, from the same commission, is kept in the Louvre. Proof on albumen paper mounted on bristol board, 34.9 x 24.5 cm. Mounting 54 x 36 cm.
