■ λ Blueberry - The Iron Horse India ink on paper for plate 25 of the album. 45x34.6 cm. Dargaud, 1970. After gradually freeing himself from the graphic influence of his master Jijé in the Fort Navajo cycle, Jean Giraud undeniably imposed his style in the Iron Horse cycle, which preceded that of the Monts de la Superstition. This board is a good example of the maturity he has acquired: despite a difficult situation to render in Comic Strip (dug in, two groups are ducking each other), the legibility is perfect, among other things thanks to the play of lights, the rapid succession of squares and the use of lost edges to focus the reader's attention. The humour of the third strip is also perfectly executed and reinforces the dramatic situation at the end of the board. To bid, please visit the "Auction Information" section.
