SLOPE DESK In violet wood veneer inlaid on all sides, with diamond decoration on the tier, the belt and the drawer; opening with a sinuous line flap flanked by a reading rod and covered with havana leather on the reverse, it reveals an interior layout with seven curved drawers and four compartments. The door is opened by means of a lock located above the flap in the door frame. The base is composed of a curved belt, a drawer and two pulls to support the flap. It rests on four curved legs. Stamp MIGEON, for Pierre IV Migeon (1696-1758) received master around 1721. Louis XV period H. 98.5 cm, W. 83 cm, D. 48.5 cm Old veneer and drawer restorations. Restorations carried out in 2000 by Mr. Jean-Marie Chapuis under the number 99092065. Provenance Private collection: M.C., Ville d'Avray Inventory and expertise of Mr. Marc Revillon d'Arpeval dated May 26, 1981. The sloping secrétaire de pente was one of Pierre IV Migeon's (1696-1758) favourite forms and he never ceased, throughout his career as a cabinetmaker, to improve its refinement and elegance. He made it his speciality as the historian Mr. André Boutemy indicates it, in a study devoted entirely to Pierre IV Migeon's slope secretaries. The note in Pierre
