Belgian School, early 18th century PRESUMED PORTRAIT OF CHARLES DE WYNS Return from hunting, portrait of a gentleman with his rifle and his dog. On the top right coat of arms of the Wyns de Raucourt family and motto in Latin: Cordis Dos Optima Candor ANO 1726. (Reinvented in the 19th century, small restorations) 91 x 74 cm The Wyns de Raucourt, a Belgian aristocratic family, whose most illustrious member was Knight François Jean Wyns de Raucourt, Mayor of Brussels from 1840 - 1848 and founder of the Free University of Brussels. The branch died out in 1943.
