Large lidded tankard ''Trumpeter von Säckingen'' Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, 1885, light stoneware, partly glazed in brown shades, front side portrait cartouche polychrome etched with surrounding relief decoration, in it image of the Trumpeter von Säckingen in incised decoration, on each side a shield in relief, made by various painters and sculptors. The conical body with volute handle, stepped pyramidal tin lid with vegetable floral decoration and figural thumb rest, dat. Christmas 1887, at the bottom tower mark with model no. 1562 with year 85 and quality control no. 2 and green stamp no. 25, h: approx. 55.5 cm (with lid). Chipped, hairline crack on handle.
