Exceptional, rare and important Tabriz. North West of Iran in the middle of the XX°. Technical characteristics. Velvet made of silky lambswool on cotton foundations. Density. Approx. 7500 knots per dm². Decorated with four paintings depicting pilgrimages to cities, mosques, palaces and monuments: Soltaniyeh (city near Zanjan and Tabriz), Taq-e Bostan, Mechhed, Shiraz, where the tomb of Darius the Great is located; Seven boedures, the main one with columns, including a swan lake, a hunting scene of wild animals (in homage to the Persian king Bahran, a great hunter), the construction of monkeys, representations of Persepolis festivals, lions and stone-carrying figures. Good general condition. Dimensions: 329 x 243 cm.
