2 Bll. Gouaches.
Verso in brown pen and ink old inscribed "No. 20" (only partly visible due to glue residue) and "No. 21". On strong laid paper. 47.5 x 41.5 and 49 x 41.2 cm. Both slightly browned and occasionally spotted. Margins with needle marks and isolated creases. Opaque white sheet 1 isolated resp. sheet 2 mainly oxidized at margins. Sheet 2 with small tear at margins and both with remains of glue on verso. Christoph von Bemmel belonged to the Nuremberg painter family of the same name and was son of Peter von Bemmel. He devoted himself to landscape painting, following the painting style of his ancestors. [bg]
