Goshawks and what belongs to the theft of the birds. Paris, Jean Houzé, 1605. In-8, 10.5 x 16.5 cm, 34 ff. encrypted, 2 ff. unencrypted, red Jansenist morocco, spine ribbed, inner gilt lace, gilt edges (Huser). Second edition "also very rare" (Thiébaud). Illustrated with a full-page copper-engraved figure. The location of the second figure has been left blank, as Thiébaud points out. The present figure varies according to the copies: in this copy, it is the tiercelet d'amour (leaf 6r), as in the one in the BnF reserve. In the British Library copy, it is the goshawk (fol. 5v). Very nice copy, washed and established by Huser, from the hunting library of Pierre Mouchon, with engraved heraldic ex-libris. This copy does not appear in the catalogue of the Mouchon collection (librairie Thiébaud, cat. 76, 1962), which describes another copy (n° 148), bound by J. Mouchon. Thiébaud 467 ("In the ex. we have seen, only one figure had been drawn (not always the same one). Same anomaly in the one described by P. Petit, Add. 48; the figure of the goshawk remained blank. ") - Harting 152.
