First German edition. The copper-engraved illustration includes the title frame, 11 figures of birds and a folded instrument board. The text is preceded by a sonnet in French by Louis Galaup de Chasteuil. Nice copy from the hunting library of Richard Schwerdt (I, p. 43, reproduction), with engraved ex-libris. Ancient wettings in the margins of several leaves. Small tear formerly repaired on the folded board. Title page re-marked at the bottom. Wet stamp repeated on the back of the folded plate.
