My art is the eternal resistance against death. Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn, 2007, p. 64f. - From 1950 to 1958 Vostell first studied lithography and typography in Wuppertal and Cologne, then painting in Paris and Düsseldorf. He is one of the founding fathers and staunch advocates of the Fluxus movement. The term "dé-collage" - to scrape off, separate, loosen - is the leitmotif in Vostell's oeuvre. Even though his work can hardly be understood in genres, painting has always been an important part of his oeuvre. The present triptych, a rarity in the artist's work due to its reduction to the medium of oil paint, captivates by its supposed pastoral character. In the initially calm, mineral landscape, traces of human civilization are revealed on closer inspection. Tryptich. Oil with granulate on canvas. One canvas signed and dated as well as each signed and dated on verso. - Each framed in a narrow wooden strip. Few spots with slight burst of paint. *
