Beautiful ceremonial kero. It is carved from the portrait of a young dignitary with a beautiful and timeless expression. The lower part is decorated with a frieze evoking the flowers of the Inca next to each other. The back is embellished with a rectangular cartouche with five lords behind a conquistador. Each of them holding weapons: club, bow and propeller Wood, period polychromy, old patina of honey and brown use, beautiful traces of internal use indicating that this work was used in many ceremonies. Lateral restoration and consolidation with period vegetable gums. Inca, Peru, Transition period, ca. 1500 22,4 x 18,5 x 16 cm Provenance: Former collection of a diplomat from the beginning of the 20th century.
