Large mask of the Dogon, Mali, probably fragment of an originally much higher mask in the style of the Sirige, wood carved from one piece and with remains of black and white paint in zigzag and striped patterns, facial part with bulging forehead, board-shaped open-work carved superstructure above, smooth and slightly sloping cut (?) at the top, h 100 cm, several tension cracks, slight traces of old insect caused damage, provenance: from a private collection in Saarbrücken. 2590-002
