This beautiful female statue sitting on a stool is one of the favourite themes of Senoufo statuary. It is particularly decorated with scarification and jewellery. The sculptor was able to breathe rhythm into his work by giving a parallel orientation to the chest, forearms and thighs. The entirely decorated sagittal crest shaped headdress dominates a face bearing a set of scarification marks forming a "square" on each cheek. This type of very marked scarification is found on the upper arms on either side of the umbilicus and covers the back. The breasts have linear markings, as do her hips, two bracelets are placed above the elbows, while the hands with tapered fingers rest on the knees.
The woman wears a loincloth that is visible from the back as well as from the front, where it is very long and decorated with small squares. A deep brown-black patina covers the work.
