CHOPARD (JEWELLERY CHRONOGRAPH / ANNIVERSARY ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION MKII REF. 171279-5002), circa 2006 Exceptional jewellery chronograph number 1 of the series produced in 250 pieces, celebrating 10 years of partnership between the Chopard Manufacture (represented by co-president Caroline Scheufele) and the Elton John AIDS Foundation (the singer's engraved signature and the foundation's logo engraved on the back). Large-opening case in 18-carat (750 thousandths) pink gold with a caseband, bezel and horn lugs entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds (610 diamonds for a total of 6.45 carats), bevelled push-pieces and screw-down case back (signed, stamped and numbered). Railroad mother-of-pearl dial on the flange with three ringed silvered counters (seconds at 3 o'clock, minute counter at 9 o'clock, hours at 6 o'clock), date window between 4 and 5 o'clock. Chopard strap in crocodile (Crocodylia spp. CITES appendix II B) with original 18-carat (750 thousandths) pink gold pin buckle entirely set with diamonds (56 diamonds totalling 0.66 carats). Movement: Mechanical self-winding caliber signed CHOPARD / 11 1/2 base (42 hours running time) Eta certified Swiss. Diameter: 42 mm.
