Tartessos. A contribution to the oldest history of the West. 2. umarb. Aufl. Hbg. 1950. 6 Bll., 180 S., 1 Bl. and 3 enclosed. Maps. Handbook Hldr., Rverg. pioneer of a tradition of antiquity: Adolf Schulten (1870-1960) wanted to find Tartessos, eastern colony on the Iberian Peninsula in the southwest, according to Schulten's assumption between the two mouths of the Guadalquivir. He dug there several times and published the results for the first time in this 2nd edition. However, Schulten was not able to locate "little Troy" exactly, but what distinguishes him is the perseverance of the scientist in the pursuit of an idea of which one can at least say that it does not harm mankind. Schulten has brought Tartessos out again, even if not found. Today it is sought between Andalusia and the south of Portugal.
