[PLEASURE GARDEN] Sensuyt the pleasure garden & flower of rhetoric... Lyon: Martin Bouillon and Olivier Arnoullet, [1525]. Important poetic anthology of the 16th century, which restores the poems of François Villon (before revision by Clément Marot, including the famous "Balade des pendus" with leaves 72v/73r), Charles d'Orléans, Christine de Pisan, Alain Chartrier or Octavien de Saint-Gelais. The copy is annotated with an old hand (from the 17th century?) which indicates the authors of certain ballads. Bechtel, J-79 Tchemerzine, V, 987 JP Barbier-Mueller, MBP, 37. in-4 (243 x 168 mm). Title printed in black and red, decorated with a lettering and 3 woodcuts, in an empty engraved shield frame numerous woodcuts in the text, often repeated, motto of the printer Bouillon on the last leaf framed with engraved borders. Binding signed René Aussourd: red morocco with flaps, double gilt fillets framing the covers, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets, chiselled and gilt edges (title burnished and brought back, some leaves burnished, restoration of worm galleries with occasional slight damage to the text, last notebook probably brought back, some marginal restorations).
