Very large embroidered bridal handkerchief, gauze stitch, mid 19th century. Very fine linen hand thread embroidered in plumetis and sand stitch with a wide frieze of foliage garlands, flowers and beautiful tight berry fruits each decorated with small needle fashion, necklaces of falling pearls, garland of small beads and flexible leaves cut out in the border. Hemmed with a gauze stitch flounce decorated with branches of flowers and foliage, flexible cartouches and medallions decorated with fashions as an elegant reminder of the embroidered decoration. Cream-coloured cotton (good condition, slightly grey lace).
