Christening dress, Ayrshire embroidery, mid 19th century.
Long presentation dress or baptism dress in linen, short sleeves and bib bodice embroidered with a mirror pattern: large central medallion under a basket full of flowers and foliage, bunches of grapes on either side, falling garlands of flowers and foliage, skirt with two flat ruffles falling harmoniously on either side of a large embroidery at the bottom of the skirt and using the same decoration as the bodice. (good condition, rare very small stains on the skirt).
