Fort in-4 of [2 ff., engraved title and dedication], 430 pp. (1 p. giving the characters and the actors and, 429 pp. of engraved music). Red morocco, ornate smooth spine, gilt title, covers decorated with a beautiful gilt garland and gilt fillets, scrolls on cups and hunts, green moire guards, gilt edges (contemporary binding).
Very insulated spine, beginning of split at the tail bit of the second dish (4 cm).
This opera inspired by the poem of the Cup was created by Persuis with Pierre Baour Lormian as librettist in 1812 at the imperial academy of music (the Opera), of which he was then the conductor before becoming its sole director in 1817. Although this work was not his greatest success, it is according to Fétis his best composition. Between 1810 and 1815, his works were performed 157 times.
