PHOTOS by Marc FERREZ (Rio de Janeiro 1843 † 1923) - LOT of 4 PHOTOGRAPHS of BRAZILIAN WAR SHIPS: 1-Javary; 2-Cruzador-Republica; 3-Trajano & 4-Aquidaban (2nd photo glued on the back of this one representing two men on the edge of a lake). From the 1860s onwards, Marc Ferrez is an essential actor of the Brazilian photographic scene. In 1865, he opened his own photographic studio in the centre of Rio. He was also appointed photographer of the Imperial Navy. 16 x 22 [22.5 x 30.5] cm. Condition A/B (Stains on one of the photos, otherwise good condition). Set of 4 pieces.
