Le Bouclier de la foy, in the form of a dialogue, is an extract from the saintly escripture. Paris, Vivant Gaultherot, 1550. In-16, black morocco, double cold fillet, back decorated in the same way, inner gilt lace, gilt edges on marbling (Duru, 1848). This apologetic work by Nicole Grenier (1505-1570), canon of Saint-Victor, contains a violent attack against the "heretical" doctrines of the Reformation. Vivant Gaultherot gave the first edition in 1547. The CCFr does not mention any copy of this rare edition in our public repositories. From the library Victor Duchâtaux (1823-1905), lawyer in Rheims, with ex-libris. Rubbed hinges, small skins.
