Weaver bird's nest under the globe Region of Bangalore, South India H. 60 cm - W. 25 cm - D. 25 cm These small black and yellow birds, Ploceus Philippinus, get their name of weaver from their ability to create such nests: it is a kind of ball made with pieces of large leaves weaved together. The entrance is on the lower part to protect themselves from predators. It takes 18 days and 500 trips to the male to build this bridal room to lure prospective females.
