Three masquettes in Baule brass alloy Ivory
Coast Brass
H: 10.5 cm. / 10.5 cm. / 11.5 cm.
Three masquettes in yellow brass with a circular opening at the back:
- Two masquettes with a characteristic Baule face: continuous and cordiform eyebrow arches, long and straight nose, closed eyes made of coffee beans, keloids on the cheeks and the centre of the forehead, decorated with fine elements in high relief: tubular goatees under the chin and braids drawn up on the top of the skull.
- A mask whose face has a frontal appendage in the shape of a hornbill's head, projected in front of the nose and mouth up to the chin. The almond-shaped eyes and half-open mouth are stretched. The whole is crowned with inwardly curved buffalo horns Antique
