James WILKINSON & SON - LONDON, circa 1840-1850 Beautiful and rare mahogany cassette set with brass plate and handle, covered with green felt. Bears a James WILKINSON &SON"Gun Makers" 27 Pall Mall London label. It contains one revolver and one pistol by WILKINSON & SON. -Pepperbox revolver with percussion, five shots, fluted barrel block, fireproof shield, signed safe, right side exterior hammer and blued and jaspered steel fittings, very finely engraved with rinceaux, opening cap, safety at the back of the hammer, finely checkered walnut stock with silver thumb piece. -Pistol with percussion of venerie, two superimposed shots, block of barrels with upper sides with rod known as "imperdable" in lower back plates, hammers and trimmings out of blued and jaspé steel very finely engraved of rinceaux, safety at the back of the hammers, opening cap, stick out of drowning finely squared with part of inch out of silver. And its accessories: 2 bullet moulds of different calibres, 2 powder pears, one in red copper with brass beak, the other in brass covered with green morocco leather, cleaning rod, capsule box, grease box. The set is of high quality, complete and in perfect condition.
