Grade mask used during the rituals of the Bwami initiatory society. It presents a face with a beautiful lunar expression within a stylized heart-shaped space. Its mouth is open, decorated with incised motifs symbolising a high-ranking initiate who has the right to speak. Wood, natural white pigments, old patina used for honey and brown.
