Bust of a Roman emperor, composite, the bust draped in antique breccia violet marble, the head in ivory carved in the style of ancient ivories (restoration at the back), the pedestal in white marble brought back.
Stylistically, our bust is similar to the bust of Marcus Aurelius made of gold, discovered in April 1939 on the site of Avenches (Aventicum), former capital of Roman Helvetia.
