Gouache design for a rich lampas, Lyon manufacture, circa 1780,
oiled laid paper, decorated with a flowered basket of roses, peonies, nasturtiums and volubilis for a remarkable lampas with nearly 15 colours. This virtuoso composition evokes the exceptional silks created and woven by Philippe de Lasalle for the Crown Furniture. An old annotation on the back indicating its provenance.
