With narrow margin around the platemark. Bartsch 16th White/Boon 16th New Holstein 80th - Rembrandt's early self-portrait shows him in a fur-trimmed coat and with fur cap on his head. Rembrandt later added the cap as under it the already worked out head hair is clearly visible. - In places somewhat weak impression, very weak brown fl. in the right white margin, at the right shoulder below a slight invisible thinning of the paper. All in all good impression. - Original etching, monogrammed "RHL". Very early self portrait on hand made paper, with small border around the plate edge. - Somewhat faint impression, very faint brown stain in the right white margin area, a slight thinning of paper on the right shoulder below.
