Nyoi Scepter
Japan. Ca 19th century

Beautiful scepter corresponding to the Chinese ruyi carved in the shape of a reishi mushroom, equivalent to the Chinese lingzhi, supposed to ensure longevity. A double gourd gourd and a horse in a cloud are carved on the top of the handle, under the mushroom head. Very nice patina, signature.
