Greater Kalamkar Painted and printed cotton in polychrome using the kalamkari technique Iran, circa 1900 The decoration of this large and beautiful polychrome kalamkar is inspired by the decorations of Kashmir textiles. It consists of three registers. In the centre, in a large cartouche, a seedling of flowers on a red background and four boteh motifs at the corners. The two side registers are decorated with large boteh and floral motifs. It has a similar composition on the reverse. 253 x 135 cm
