The same subject, but on a light background, has been used again with slight variations and in small size (135 x 95 mm) to illustrate the OEillades chisellées en branche by Georges Hugnet (Paris, 1939).
The drawing belonged to Joë Bousquet, one of Bellmer's most faithful friends.
