An Attic Late Geometric Cup Lot n° 6

Greek, Attic Late Geometric, 2nd half 8th cent. B.C.. Clay. H. 8 cm A one-handled cup with globular lower body and subtly flaring, high walls. A broad band of meander around the neck, with lower part of the vessel decorated with parallel bands of black slip. Condition: two small fragments from the rim reattached. Handle restored; the points of attachment with striped decoration are original; minor surface wear. Formerly Collection Joseph Klein, formed in New York between 1941 and 1980.
