RARE BUST in gilded lead representing the presumed portrait of Henry IV as a child ; the young sovereign is depicted with his head slightly turned to his left and wearing a partially open shirt with a pleated collar. France, 17th century, after a model attributed to Germain Pilon. It is presented on a wooden pedestal veneered with red-stained tortoiseshell decorated with interlaced cords or acanthus leaves in gilt bronze.
