Exceptional, important and fine Tabriz wool and silk (North West of Iran) around 1980
Lambswool velvet, high quality silk, silk inlaid flowers on cotton foundations, fringes are made of silk.
Ivory field with foliage scrolls and garlands, and pearl grey, old pink and orange stylised flowered palmettes framing a large central rosette with a crown of flowers in the shape of a stylised polychrome
diamond Four spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion
Triple borders, the main one reminiscent of the spandrels
Note the very refined endings with weaves in the terminal kilims of very stylised inscriptions
