White marble bas-relief carved of two putti carrying a garland of flowers and fruits. Probably part of an ancient rectangular pedestal.
Italy XVIth century
H : 59 - L : 50 cm
Known since Antiquity, the putti holding garlands became popular during the Renaissance. We can mention a similar bas-relief kept in the museum of Brescia in Italy or the sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto in Lucca.
