Portrait of the French actress Caroline-Eugénie Second-Weber in the role of Medea, a play by Catulle Mendès performed by artists of the Comédie-Française at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, for the benefit of the charity "Les Petits Pieds nus". "Madame Segond-Weber was admirable in Medea; she is an artist of a sculptural beauty whose vibrant voice marked the role of a tragic greatness" (cfr H. Liebrecht in "Le Thyrse", T. 6, p. 2). By the painter and engraver of Dutch origin J. Laudy (1877-1956), who settled in Brussels in 1893 and became a naturalized artist in 1921.
