After MOREAU, Jean-Michel Book illustrations for "La Henriade". Ca. 1750-1800 2 drawings, pen and brown ink, with grey wash, 12,5 x 8,6 cm, vellum paper, with attribution in graphite at lower left margin "Moreau". Under passe-partout. In 1728, Jean-Michel Moreau provided the illustrations for the London 4to edition of Voltaire's "La Henriade" , in which the author praises the reign of Henry IV as an illustration of religious tolerance. The two drawings replicate the general compositions of the illustrations by Moreau for Canto 7 and 10, but add different settings and characters. Ref. Bengesco 365. Albert Van Loock Prov.
