Gaston SEBIRE (1920-2001) The Farm Oil on canvas signed lower right H_65 cm - W_81 cm Provenance : Private collection (Certificate of authenticity - frame) NOTE : Attached to the École de Paris and continuing a practice of landscape painting inherited from the French painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Gaston Sébire was appointed painter to the Navy in 1973. He became a member of the Rouen Academy in 1973. Throughout the second half of the 20th century, he exhibited in the main Parisian salons, and was notably part of Maurice Boitel's group at the Salon Comparisons for 45 years.
