Fine TABRIZ (North-West of Iran), woven in the famous workshop of the Master weaver
HADJI-JALILI, circa 1870-80
The sea arch, vegetalized, with arabesques, supported by two delicate brick columns, full of flowers, overlooks a symbolic polychrome tree of life, surrounded by two small flower vases. A floral lamp
suspended completes the decor. The frame consists of seven borders, the seven steps leading to paradise. The main one, marine with multicoloured corollas on vegetal branches, is flanked by two brick counter-edges with garlands of flowers and four smaller ones, ivory, following an 'S'.
