Late TABRIZ (North-West of Iran), Late XIXth beginning XXth century, woven in the famous workshop of the Master weaver. HADJI-JALILI (Persia) circa 1870-80 Striking contrast between the flowery borders and the spandrels with vegetalized accents on one side and the plain ivory oblong field protruding from the other. Indeed, the navy and brick counterborders, as well as the ivory-corollared navy spandrels are covered with floral branches and polychrome cypresses, framing the ivory field, which supports a multicoloured polylobate floral medallion, its arrowed pendants and delicate bouquets rising out of it. Original graphics and bright palette. Technical specifications : - Silky lambswool velvet on a cotton foundation. - Good general condition - Density: about 7500/8000 knots per dm2 176 x 136 cm
