James Guitet (1925-2010) French painter and engraver Engraving signed and dated 76 lower right; numbered E/A 5/10 lower left. Accident to the frame 20th century period Sight dimensions: H: 21; W: 12,5 cm James Guitet is one of the first artists to approach non-figurative painting in 1948. In the 1960s, he developed a painting technique based on casein that allowed him to obtain material effects. Thereafter, he will not cease to explore the effects of matter in his works. He created his own engraving technique, composed of fabric matrices and strings, the Textigravures.
