Meteorite from Imilac, the pallasite from the desert Atacama on a wooden stand.
Imilac is a superb pallasite discovered in the Atacama desert in the 19th century in Chile. Imilac pallasite is, together with Esquel pallasite (Argentina) and Seymchan pallasite (from Russia), the most prized of the pallasites. It contains translucent peridots (olivine) of very high quality, honey to green color, these peridots are extraterrestrial. Thinly sliced imilac pallasite reveals all its inner beauty with translucent peridots that formed in space more than 4.5 billion years ago. The peridots are naturally "set" in a ferronickel metal matrix. The heel of Imilac (meteorite cut in two revealing the inside on one side and the outside on the other side) is proposed here sold with its wooden support, measuring 60 x 40 mm by 10 mm for the thickness, for 53.40 g .
