Meteorite Campo del Cielo of 316 g, polished metallic appearance
The Campo del Cielo meteorites are very popular because they were discovered in large numbers in Argentina in and around the Chaco province and are present in all meteorite collections, often in several specimens. It is a very large meteorite of several hundred or even several thousand tons, which met the Earth more than 5000 years ago by fragmenting into thousands of meteorites as it passed through the atmosphere. It is one of these meteorites proposed here, with a slightly polished surface. Note, visible on the photo, a test cut on this piece, unfinished cut. Specimen of 316 g for 65 x 50 x 35 mm.
