Konstantin Grcic trained as a cabinetmaker at the John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood, England, before studying design at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1991, he opened his own design studio in Munich; today Konstantin Grcic Design is based in Berlin. The studio's activities encompass several areas ranging from industrial design to exhibition design and architectural collaborative projects. Its work is characterized by careful research in art history, design and architecture and a passion for technology and materials. Many of Grcic's products have won international design awards and his work is part of the permanent collections of leading design museums (such as MoMA in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris).
