VERLYS, Rare and important pair of pressed and moulded opalescent glass vases. Signed. Circa 1930, (perfect condition). Ht : 28 cm
Cited as early as 1928, at the Salon d'Automne, the glass vases signed Verlys reach new tonalities, with bright and clear harmonies. Each event is distinguished by superimposed iridescence, transparency brings absolutely exquisite and unexpected combinations. This result is not very surprising when you consider that it is obtained by means of several layers of glass, variously tinted and added one on top of the other. Needless to say, this process is extremely difficult to achieve. It requires an in-depth knowledge of the craft on the part of the glassmaker, an incredible skill. Their task is all the more delicate because even when used in the same way, the colouring metal oxides can change colour during the work and the same formula provides absolutely disparate results. No two methods are the same. The French company Holophane worldwide.
