Jackie Namandali Lizard/Goanna, 1997 The lizard, shown here on the brown ground, is very present in Aboriginal symbolism and is one of the favourite dishes of the Aborigines, often hunted by women who catch it in its burrow by pulling it by the tail and then stunning it. The bark bears the artist's name on the back with the reference JN 140-4-97 and goanna kalawan. The Injalak community cardboard label is hung on the back of the bark.
