Elizabeth M. Craig,
British 1893-1968-
Woman in a bedchamber with an apparition and onlookers;
watercolour and gouache, signed, 89x48.5cm (ARR)
Note: The artist Elizabeth Craig is listed as working at Marlborough Studios, Finchley Road, London, and having exhibited two works at the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1937. Craig is known to have been the partner of the gender-nonconforming artist, Gluck. Together, the two artists ran away to the artistic colony in Lamorna, West Cornwall, during the First World War. Known by her last name, Craig evidently made a significant impact on Gluck's life with the two living and working together when they moved back to London.
