A late Victorian silver christening mug, of plain cylindrical form with curved handle, decorated with five young girls playing, possibly in the style of Kate Greenaway, and with personal engraving. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co, Sheffield 1880. Height 2.75 (7cm), weight 4.4 ozt (136 grams). In good general condition, displaying surface scratches, wear, marks and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Slight dent to rim of mug.Engraving reads 'Winnifred Walker. March 10th 1901.'Hallmarks and maker's marks clear and legible.Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
