It is probably the modelo of our work. -The composition is that of Robert Lefèvre's painting, "Napoleon I in coronation costume", made in 1811 and kept at the Palace of Versailles. The drawing is in private hands. Biography: Joseph Joachim Guernier (1791-1848) Pupil of David, Guerin (he is registered in the workshop of this artist in 1811) and Saint. A talented painter and draughtsman, he exercised his art of living, leaving his son Charles Joseph more than four hundred paintings, studies and drawings which he has since donated to the City Museum.
