Provenance: Sale Ader Picard Tajan, Drouot, 16 March 1988 n° 182 (reproduced on the cover of the catalogue) Biography: Louis-François Aubry, pupil of Vincent and Isabey, his miniatures were noticed at the Salon of 1804 next to those of Saint and Augustin. He was much appreciated by the Bonaparte family. From 1833 to 1848, he worked as a restorer in the Louvre.
